Bianco Blanc 2013, Le Coste
This simple Italian white is made from a blend of Procanico and Malvasia grown on the volcanic soils of Lazio, on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria. The grapes are lightly crushed and then immediately pressed. The first must settles for a few days before being transferred to the bottom of the cellar, in a natural cave, where it ferments slowly in French oak barrels for about a year. A delicate amber color, for a wine with an elegant and lively nose that lingers on the palate with notes of yellow fruits, enhanced in the magnum format.

Domaine de Chassorney
This Pinot Noir comes from a plot with a steep, south-southeast facing terroir located between 280 and 400 meters above sea level in the Saint-Romain appellation. The soils are mainly marl, limestone and clay. The grapes, from fifty-year-old vines, macerate in whole bunches. Aging takes place for about a year in barrels. Beautiful structure, well-rounded tannins, and lovely notes of black fruits.

The vines, planted in 1946, produce a rich, powerful, and elegant wine. It's a bit like Etna's hermitage. The harvest is destemmed and lightly crushed, then macerated for sixty days. No fining, filtration before bottling.

Frank Cornelissen's grand cru is, as expected, a wine for aging. It reveals the remarkable depth of the Nerello Mascalese grape variety, from the Barbabecchi plot, planted with ungrafted, pre-phylloxera vines, more than a century old, at an altitude of 910 meters on the slopes of Etna. Skin maceration takes place for sixty days on destemmed and lightly crushed grapes. No fining, no sulfites, light filtration before bottling. With a very dense texture, this red is more mineral than fruity (the fruit notes are candied: blackberry, prune, all roundness and melted tannins). Its depth and power are balanced by great freshness. Possible traces of volatile acidity, quickly vanishing with decanting. Delivery possible in Île-de-France only.
