Terroir, plots, and grape varieties

Perched in the heart of Auvergne, on a former 5-hectare organic estate planted with massal selections since 1967, Marie and Vincent Tricot cultivate life: volcanic soils, a temperate microclimate, and generous sun exposure. Formerly neighbors of Patrick Bouju, they share this soil of basalt, tuffs, and Oligocene volcanics, a terroir steeped in history and perfectly suited to their philosophy. The modest, deeply rooted grape varieties reveal the place: Gamay, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Aligoté, all planted in the tradition of a winemaker who thinks about life, not yields.

Cultivation methods

Here, the vines are cultivated in symbiosis with nature. The harvests are manual, plant cover is maintained, no pesticides, no herbicides, in perfect organic cultivation for four decades. Respect for life guides every intervention; they let the soil breathe, insects feed, microorganisms act deep down. A farming vision, daily artisanal care, respect for natural rhythms.

Winemaking

After their decisive experience with Guy Cotton, inspired by Jules Chauvet and never succumbing to the sirens of the New World, Marie and Vincent decided in 2011 to produce all their cuvées without added sulfur. Fermentations take place with the grapes' own yeasts, in neutral containers: concrete vats, crafted wood... The winemaking is intended to be transparent, without artifice, revealing the grape and the soil.

The estate's wines

The wines are distinguished by their pure energy, their vibrant minerality, aromas of small red fruits, wild flowers, and citrus zest. The palate is saline, indulgent, and deeply elegant. The reds pair wonderfully with a country terrine, a sauced dish with wild mushrooms, or a jugged hare. The light and invigorating whites enhance oysters, grilled fish, or fresh goat cheese. A sensory encounter where every sip tells a story of commitment and care, a fully developed, intense, and lively natural wine.
