Crucella Red 2020,
La Vinicola di Antonio Gismondi
Crucella is known for its undergrowth, mineral, and earthy nose, a lively and acidic attack on the palate, red fruits, cherry on the retro-olfaction, and tannins less present than the deep color would suggest. Certainly a good wine for laying down that will blossom with time. The only red from the estate, it is a beautiful blend of Merlot (33%), Sangiovese (34%), and the ancient local grape variety Freisa (33%), which imparts a slight hint of musky red fruit, but the overall wine is well balanced. The harvest macerates for five or six days in stainless steel vats, then the wine is aged for seven to ten months in the same type of vat.

Antonio Gismondi's azienda is located in Cerreto Sanita, in the Benevento region of Campania. A microclimate gives this area an almost continental feel: humid winds from the Tyrrhenian Sea collide with the first ramparts of the Apennine mountain range, causing condensation in the air and lowering temperatures, which are significantly cooler and more humid than on the coast. If we add a temperature inversion phenomenon between day and night, which is common in the Apennine climate, the freshness of the wines from the Antonio Gismondi estate is nothing mysterious in this southern Italy, which is nevertheless known for its very hot climate. The estate is family-run: for generations, the Gismondi family has cultivated vines and made wine using the most traditional and natural methods, to which biodynamic techniques are added. For a long time, of the fifteen tons of grapes produced each year, one ton was reserved for on-site winemaking for family consumption, with the rest going to the local wine cooperative. It was their meeting with Massimo Marchiori and Antonella of Partida Creus that led Antonio and his wife Anabel to start producing natural wines at home from the entire harvest. The two-hectare vineyard is located between 350 and 380 meters above sea level, on clay and stony soils, with two-thirds facing south. The grape varieties are Merlot, Freisa and Sangiovese for the reds, and Falanghina and Malvasia di Candia for the whites.x
Digresion '20 Beer 2020, Cyclic Beer Farm
Cyclic Beer Farm
Packaged in 75 cl bottles so that everyone can satisfy their thirst, the beers from the Barcelona-based brewery Cyclic Beer Farm play between classicism and flights of inspiration, in a contrasting and creative way, in the Catalan style. Based on classic principles and a Belgian fermentation model, the two brewer-winemakers Joshua and Alberto play with ingredients, aromas, and macerations, between cereals, fruits, vegetables, and grape skins from Catalan grape varieties, to achieve flavors reminiscent of an unidentified drinkable object (OBNI). Whether they assert themselves through balance or a certain controlled dissonance, these beers will never leave you indifferent and will reveal their full potential during the summer heat, served well chilled.
This saison-style cuvée has an alcohol content of 5.5%. It is the result of a complex blend: 28% mixed saison fermentation for six months, 28% mixed saison fermentation for eighteen months, 22% tangy saison, and 22% mixed saison fermentation aged for six months in oak barrels. The resulting blend is aged for eighteen months. At this stage, we can almost speak of alchemy, even numerology. The result is as complex, while remaining accessible, as its composition. Disgresión ("Digression") was created in relation to a social context, that of Covid 19. It is the result of a collaboration between Cyclic Beer Farm and several local breweries (Cobeer-19 project). 19% of profits are donated to charitable causes. The beer itself is fresh and classic, with a good bitterness and balance.
Moscatell Blanc 2019,
Cyclic Beer Farm
Cyclic Beer Farm is a duo of Barcelona friends, Alberto and Joshua. Based in the Catalan capital, they have two sides to their business: beer (Cyclic Beer) and wine (Cyclic Wine). The beers, inspired by the Belgian model, come in surprising and colorful ranges where expertly blended yeast cocktails and house brews combine with varied macerations of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and grape marc from traditional Catalan varieties, the latter collected after the fermentation of their wines—because the second side is the wine, made exclusively from native Catalan grape varieties. As merchant winemakers, Alberto and Joshua personally harvest by hand from organic vineyards throughout Catalonia and bring the harvest back to their brewery-cum-winery workshop in La Sagrera (Barcelona). There, they sort the grapes, tread them by foot, and ferment the must using exclusively indigenous yeasts. Depending on the type of wine, skin maceration takes place on the skins and stems for between one and three days for whites and between six and fifteen days for reds. The free-run juice is then transferred without pressing into stainless steel tanks where fermentation continues before bottling. The skins and stems, and sometimes part of the juice, are then used for the maceration of saison beers: an interesting synergy between beer and wine. No sulfites are added during vinification; nothing is added or removed from the wine, which is never filtered. The harvest and other viticultural operations are decided according to the lunar calendar.
Moscatell is made entirely from Muscat de Frontignan (a variant of the white Muscat à petits grains) grown in Haut-Penedès, in Sant Pere de Ribes, on limestone soils. The age of the vines is not specified, but the altitude of the plot is 80 meters. The harvest is foot-trodden and macerates for a day on the skins and stems. It is then gently crushed again before finishing its fermentation in stainless steel vats. If this wine seemed to need a little time to develop when we tasted it upon arrival, it promises a lot: dry, aromatic, beautiful crisp acidity, lemon zest on the nose and palate, floral and highly drinkable. Decanting recommended.
Trepat Red 2019,
Cyclic Beer Farm is a duo of friends from Barcelona, Alberto and Joshua. Based in the Catalan capital, they have two sides to their business: beer (Cyclic Beer) and wine (Cyclic Wine). The tannins have pride of place in this 100% Trepat red wine (a traditional Catalan grape variety); they assert themselves from the attack with a crisp acidity. Rustic and fruity, invigorating, almost a gurgle (it needs a little time and rest to become fully so). The grapes grow on a clay-limestone plot in Prenafeta (municipality of La Conca de Barberà) and the vines are two years old. The altitude is 400 meters. The harvest, hand-picked, is crushed and then macerated for twelve days on the skins and stalks, with punching down every two days. A second, very gentle crushing precedes the second phase of fermentation in stainless steel vats.
Mérens Red 2019,
Domaine Bois Moisset
The Mérens 2019 cuvée from Domaine Bois Moisset is a magnificent expression of Southwestern grape varieties. A balanced blend of Duras and Syrah, this natural wine reveals a fresh and peppery profile, carried by aromas of crisp red fruits and a delicately spiced structure. A characterful red, ideal for enjoying convivial moments around a beautiful table or a barbecue with friends.
A meticulous terroir and vinification
Made from vines aged 30 years for the Duras and 16 years for the Syrah, Mérens draws its identity from rich and diverse soils: the Duras thrives on a north-facing gravelly slope, while the Syrah grows on boulbènes and silts dotted with rolled pebbles. The 2019 vintage was marked by a rainy spring followed by a hot summer, precipitating the harvests which began on September 7 for Duras and September 18 for Syrah. The vinification follows a natural approach: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, no added sulfites, and aging for several months in cement barrels, allowing for a beautiful expression of the fruit and terroir.
A vibrant and delicious wine
From the moment it is opened, Mérens 2019 reveals a expressive nose with accents of blackcurrant, morello cherry and black pepper. On the palate, freshness dominates, with a lively attack, followed by a beautiful fruity depth and a spicy structure that lengthens the wine into a persistent finish. Its balance between acidity, richness, and fine tannic structure makes this a red that is as accessible as it is captivating.
Food Pairings and Tasting Moments
After a light decanting, Mérens reveals itself in all its splendor. Served around 16°C, it will go wonderfully with grilled meats, red meats, charcuterie and artisanal cured meats. Perfect for a summer barbecue, a gourmet aperitif or a warm meal with friends, it is a wine for sharing and pleasure, to be enjoyed now or kept for a few years.
Vieille Vigne Rouge 2019
Nestled in Occitanie, this cuvée Vieille Vigne Falgueyras from Domaine Bois Moisset is a beautiful expression of Syrah from its Tarn terroir. Made from old vines aged 30 and 40 years old, planted on boulbène and gravel soils, this natural wine is vinified with a minimalist and respectful approach.
A vintage marked by balance
2019 was anything but a restful year: after a few episodes of hail in the spring, the hot summer was punctuated by beneficial storms in July and August, ensuring the grapes reached beautiful maturity. Harvested on September 19, the Syrah was destemmed and then macerated for a month in concrete vats, with two punchings to gently extract color and structure. Fermentation took place without the addition of sulfites, at a temperature not exceeding 23 °C, thus preserving all the freshness of the fruit. After aging for nine months in vats, the wine was bottled unfiltered to preserve its purest expression.
A delicious wine full of character
On tasting, Vieille Vigne Falgueyras reveals a fruity and charming profile. Its deep, dark color announces an intense nose of blackcurrant, blackberry, and morello cherry, accompanied by a peppery touch typical of Syrah. On the palate, the attack is full and juicy, offering a beautiful balance between indulgence and freshness. The tannins are fine and silky, giving way to a savory and persistent finish.
Pairings and tasting moments
This accessible and convivial red is ideal for casual meals as well as large gatherings with friends. It will pair perfectly with charcuterie, grilled meats, pizzas, Mediterranean dishes, or even a good summer barbecue. Enjoy slightly chilled to enhance its freshness and fruitiness.
Crucella Red 2019
La Vinicola di Antonio Gismondi
The estate's only red, Crucella is a beautiful blend of Merlot, Sangiovese, and the ancient local Freisa grape variety, which imparts a slight hint of musky red fruit, but the Sangiovese dominates. The harvest macerates for five or six days in stainless steel vats, then the wine is aged for seven to ten months in the same type of vat. Crucella is characterized by a nose of undergrowth, mineral and earthy, a lively and acidic attack on the palate, red fruit, cherry on the retro-olfaction, and tannins that are less present than the deep color would suggest. Definitely a good wine for laying down that will blossom over time.

Tinto Cosecha BCDC Red 2018
Bodegas Coruña del Conde
BCDC (the initials of the winery) is a 100% Tempranillo from vines planted at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. From the vineyard to the winery, all work is artisanal and carried out with respect for nature. The harvest is destemmed and macerated for 30 days in vats. Both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation take place in vats, and the wine is then aged for five months in old 500-liter French oak barrels. This 2018 was bottled in May 2020 and, as is Spanish practice, was left to rest for a few months before release. It is a full-bodied, dark, dense red that is full of personality and pairs well with red meats and grilled meats.
Natural wine with no added sulfites.
Rosado Cosecha Rosadito Rosé 2019
Bodegas Coruña del Conde
Natural wine without added sulphites.
A Rose of Whites Rosé 2019
La Senda
Two white grape varieties in equal parts: Doña Blanca and Palomino, from old plots whose vines are seventy to ninety years old. The vineyard is located in the north of Bierzo, planted on quartz-clayey limestone soils, at an altitude of 550 meters. The 2019 harvest of these whites is magnificent, but the winemaker lacked vats for their fermentation. He therefore macerated the entire harvest for three days in barrels that had previously contained red wine, hence the particular color of this wine, which is aged four months in the same barrels. No filtration or added sulfites. Reserve it for slightly mature cheeses, roasted white meats, and lacquered poultry (a Peking duck, what a great idea!).
Natural wine with no added sulfites.
Sereibroc Red 2015
Sereibroc is Corbières in reverse. Centuries-old Carignan vines and a few Grenache vines, both growing on red clay soils well exposed to the sun and the tramontane winds, produced this powerful yet fresh wine, with lovely acidity, beautiful animal notes, and earthy, fruity, and candied aromas (cocoa, prune, fig). The harvest macerates for ninety days in concrete vats, and the wine spends two years in bottles. Extended decanting is recommended.
Natural wine with no added sulfites.
Jeune Tradition Red 2018
100% macerated Tempranillo, harvested from plots planted by Alberto López Calvo: an updated version of Julien's grandfather's work.
Natural wine with no added sulfites.

A natural wine with no added sulfites.

Chiroubles Red 2017
A very seductive cuvée, devilishly Beaujolais, Chiroubles to the max, where the Gamay expresses all its freshness and red and black fruits. The nose offers aromas of red and black fruits; the palate is supple, delicious, round, and fruity with a lovely refreshing acidity. Pair it with good stews or the best country hams; even pata negra will melt with pleasure.
