We are pleased to offer this old vintage that showcases this wine at its peak of maturity and depth.
Vinification
The Nerello Mascalese vines, planted in 1946, grow on sandy-clay soil. The harvest is destemmed and lightly crushed, then macerated for sixty days on the skins. The wine is aged for 18 months in vats and 18 months in bottle. No fining, light filtration.
Tasting
Rich and powerful, yet elegant, Munjebel MC is a bit like the hermitage of Etna, and the depth and density of this wine are enhanced by its age. This magnum size of Frank Cornelissen's classic dry white wine, Munjebel VA, is classified under the DOP Sicilia and IGP Terre Siciliane Bianco appellations. Organic (Eurofeuille), biodynamic, and natural, this is a very special white wine, produced from ungrafted vines from the estate's highest plots: Tartaraci (1,000 m above sea level) and Zacchino Pietre (920 m). This is the upper limit of the Etna vineyard.
Vinification
Munjebel VA white is a blend of Grecanico Dorato (60%), Coda di Volpe (30%), and Carricante (10%). After harvesting, destemming, and light crushing, the grapes macerate for 4 days on the skins and ferment with indigenous yeasts. Aging is 18 months in fiberglass vats and 18 months in bottles. No fining, light filtration.
Tasting

Made from pure Sicilian Nerello Mascalese (PDO/DOP Etna Rosso and PGI Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese appellations), Munjebel VA is an organic (Eurofeuille), biodynamic, and natural red wine produced by Frank Cornelissen. It is a blend of the estate's three highest vineyards (Vigne Alte), rich in biodiversity: Tartaraci (1,000 m above sea level), Rampante Soprana (870 m), and Barbabecchi (910 m). Munjebel CS is a natural single-plot red cuvée made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, biodynamic and organic (Eurofeuille label). It is produced by Frank Cornelissen in the DOP (AOP) Etna Rosso/IGP Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese. The grapes come from the Zottorinoto contrada and the Chiusa Spagnolo plot, towards the bottom of the valley, in a lava rock amphitheater at a relatively low altitude (620 m). This is a unique, ungrafted vineyard planted around 1925. The magnum format gives even more depth and dimension to this wine.
Vinification
The Munjebel CS harvest is destemmed and lightly crushed. Fermentation, using a vat base and indigenous yeasts, is accompanied by a 50-day skin maceration. No fining, light filtration before bottling.
Tasting
The Chiusa Spagnolo plot produces a deep and tannic wine, a little behind the other crus of the contrada and reminiscent of the varietal typicity of Nebbiolo. The color is slightly less intense than that of the other reds of the estate and the wine is a little slower to express itself. You will pair it with meats, charcuterie and Mediterranean dishes. Munjebel CR is a single-plot red cuvée, certified organic (Eurofeuille), biodynamic, and natural. It is made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes by Frank Cornelissen in the DOP (AOP) Etna Rosso/IGP Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese. Munjebel CR comes from the Campo Re plot, which is partially ungrafted and approximately 70 years old, located in the far west of the valley at an altitude of 735 meters. The soil is deep, and ripeness is difficult to achieve in wet years. This gives a particular character to the wines from this plot, closer to Nebbiolo (a typical Tuscan grape variety) than the other reds from Azienda Frank Cornelissen. The magnum format, by allowing this wine to blossom, helps it express itself.

It comes from old, ungrafted Nerello Mascalese vines, planted in 1910 on the Barbabecchi contrada, at an altitude of 910 m, renowned for capturing the first rays of the sun in the cool of the morning. The magnum format enhances its depth and gives it even more breadth.
Vinification

This is a truly delicious wine, which possesses the clarity and roundness of its appellation. Its lightly toasted and smoky notes, this invasion of peach and ripe apple, will initially captivate you. Then, on the palate, sweetness and freshness will further demonstrate the beauty and solidity of this fine and complex wine, balanced between the richness of its fruit, its freshness, and its soft, satiny texture. The finish features balsamic notes of spices and lavender. This beautiful wine is made from old Marsanne and Viognier vines, planted around 1960, cultivated biodynamically on loess, decomposed granite, and gneiss soils in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, on the banks of the Ardèche near its mouth. The southeast-facing lieu-dit, near Sainte-Épine, is one of the best in the appellation. The harvest is entirely manual, followed by a passage in a cold room before pressing, and no inputs are used in the vineyard or the cellar. The wine is produced by direct pressing and goes into old barrels where it ferments on natural yeasts for two months. It is then racked and returned to barrels for a year of aging. Thierry Alexandre produces little (two hectares in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, in Ardèche, and a few vines north of Crozes-Hermitage), but he produces well and carefully, entirely biodynamically and without additives in the vineyard or cellar. His bottles are in the Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage blanc and Vin de France appellations. The grape varieties are typical of this northern part of the Rhône Valley: Marsanne, Roussanne, Syrah, Viognier. The estate lies on quite varied soils, mainly decomposed granite, as well as gneiss, sandy clay and loess. He practices semicarbonic fermentation in whole bunches for fairly long periods and aging, depending on the vintage, in stainless steel or old barrels. His wines are as rare and sought-after as the winemaker is humble and discreet, but there is nothing haughty or inaccessible about them: pleasant, warm, fluid and well balanced between fruit and mineral, they are wines for pleasure that should be reserved for the most friendly gatherings.

This pure Nerello Mascalese comes from the Contrada Monte Colla, a very steep, terraced plot with magnificent sun and wind exposure, directly opposite Mount Etna. The soil is sandy clay. The vines, planted in 1946, produce a rich, powerful, and elegant wine. It's a bit like Etna's hermitage. The harvest is destemmed and lightly crushed, then macerated for sixty days. No fining, filtration before bottling.

Magnum Munjebel VA White 2017
From the Vigne Alte, the highest plots on the estate, this white is harvested between 900 and 1,000 meters above sea level on ungrafted vines. It is composed of Grecanico Dorato (60%), Carricante (10%), and Coda di Volpe (30%). Depth, density, acidity, minerality, and texture: a supremely elegant white wine, to be paired with the finest seafood.

Munjebel CS Red 2020
Cornelissen
Munjebel CS is a natural single-plot red cuvée made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, biodynamic and organic (Eurofeuille label). It is produced by Frank Cornelissen in the DOP (AOP) Etna Rosso/IGP Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese. The grapes come from the Zottorinoto contrada and the Chiusa Spagnolo plot, towards the bottom of the valley, in a lava rock amphitheater at a relatively low altitude (620 m). This is a unique, ungrafted vineyard, planted around 1925.
Vinification
The Munjebel CS harvest is destemmed and lightly crushed. Fermentation, using a vat base and indigenous yeasts, is accompanied by a 50-day skin maceration. No fining, light filtration before bottling.
Tasting
The Chiusa Spagnolo plot produces a deep and tannic wine, a little behind the other crus of the contrada and reminiscent of the varietal typicity of Nebbiolo. The color is slightly less intense than that of the other reds of the estate and the wine is a little slower to express itself. You will pair it with meats, charcuterie and Mediterranean dishes. Also try it with a roast pigeon from Bresse (Pierre-Eudes Quintart) or from Brittany (Volailles Renault).

Domaine de Chassorney
The illustrious Burgundy vineyard of Pommard, the epitome of Burgundy red wine, is represented here by Frédéric Cossard in the form of this beautiful wine full of red fruits and voluptuousness. On the palate, it is supple and light, but also has presence and personality. A straightforward, loyal, taut wine, adored by the ancient Dukes of Burgundy. The soils are clay-limestone and well-drained at the lower slopes, and at higher altitudes are Oxfordian marl, brown calcic and brown calcareous soils. Occasionally, a red tint emerges, revealing iron oxide. Pommard retains a virile and assertive reputation, especially inherited from the 19th century. However, it reveals itself to be sensitive, supple, and feline, tending towards leather, pepper, and chocolate with age. It is best to let this wine age a little to allow it to express its full potential. The Pinot Noir harvest on clay-limestone soil is macerated for three weeks in whole bunches before aging for a year in concrete eggs.

The Savigny-lès-Beaune terroir has accustomed us to great white wines: here is one from the Vermots climate, a locality located in the north of the appellation, on the edge of the village. Fresh, refined, and taut, it is a very mineral wine with a lovely hint of richness, floral and lemony, but also brioche-like with a hint of richness. A clean and frank wine, slightly spicy and quite full-bodied, which you can pair with any dish you desire, from the most everyday to the most exceptional, but it has a special affinity with fish and seafood. It also goes well with traditional starters such as scallops à la Normande, vol-au-vent, or bouchee à la reine.
