We just returned from the Gaillac region, where we are still under the spell of Bois Moisset and Sylvie, Philippe, and Hippolyte (the son who is taking over)! 😍 We felt like we had stumbled upon a haven of peace, a return to the farm of yesteryear, a look back at our immersion with our friends at the Ferme du Bois Moisset 🚴
 

Bois Moisset: a farm and a family 🍇

The Gaillac region is a bit like French Tuscany... but less touristy and with more tractors. Breathtaking rolling landscapes, a thousand-year-old winemaking heritage, and winemakers who have more respect for the land than we do for waking up on Monday morning. At Bois Moisset, they make everything: wine, lentils, flour, oil, and they even have a herd of heritage cows 🐮 that Hippolyte wants to graze in the vineyards. Eco-friendly, efficient, and fun! 🍀

Terroir, vines, and biodiversity: the pebbles make the java.

The 15 hectares of vines are a bit like a patchwork of pebbles and sand: gravel, sand, silt... A terroir shaped by the Tarn 💪, which produces fine and complex wines, blending fruit and spices. Syrah and Duras are the stars, but local grape varieties like Braucol and Prunelart also have their say. And here, we do everything to respect nature: grassy vines, green manure, and a vibrant biodiversity... The insects even gave us a little welcome dance.

Natural winemaking: we tasted it, and we fell in love!

At Bois Moisset, natural wine is serious business. No sulfur, whole harvests, and low yields... The result? Concentrated, fruity, and spicy wines, with tannins that caress the palate. We had the chance to taste several vintages, and it's a firework of flavors! And for thrill-seekers, they even make brandy...
