Les Vignes de Jeannot Red 2017
This red wine from the Beaujolais-Villages appellation (of course, 100% Gamay), offering a more than reasonable price-quality ratio, comes from old vines that belonged to Jean Chemarin, ancestor of our current winemaker: hence the name on the label. A freshness that is explained by the altitude of the plot (450 meters). This wine has undergone two years of aging, half in vats and the other half in Burgundy barrels. He is charming, captivating, fruity, with beautiful notes of strawberry.
Find out more
Nicolas Chemarin, nicknamed "P'tit Grobis" as a resident of Marchampt (Beaujolais), is the fourth generation of winemaker on his family wine estate in the Beaujolais-Villages appellation, on a land full of stones where he crafts wines of surprising depth and sincerity. In 2005, he took over two hectares of vines from his father and in 2006 he signed his first vintages. In 2008, he acquired other vines and decided to devote himself solely to his estate, whose terroir, very steep, consists of rocky and poor soils on a gray granite rock. The vines rest on the bedrock through very thin soil, and their roots plunge deep into the rock. Depending on the soil configuration, the vines are pruned in goblet or raised on stakes. Their average age is eighty years. The grape varieties, Gamay and Chardonnay, are classically Beaujolais. Nicolas also cultivates two other terroirs in the Régnié appellation: Les Bullats, with light, filtering sandy soils, and La Haute Ronze, very close to Morgon, whose deeper, clayey soils produce full-bodied wines. The vintages undergo long macerations (from 18 to 30 days) with punching down and temperature control (Nicolas works cold, around 20°C). Aging is partially done in temperature-controlled concrete vats for a third, the remaining two-thirds being spent in barrels of four to ten wines to provide oxygenation but little or no oaky sensation. Nicolas Chemarin is already well known in the natural world for his sweet and fruity vintages, pleasure wines, and for vintages from difficult and magnificent terroirs, with admirable and complex mineral, aromatic and spicy notes.
Perspectives White 2024
Domaine de la Sorbiere
A Burgundy that opens up new horizons
Perspectives is a rare and luminous cuvée, originating from the Bourgogne AOC, but boasting a unique perspective. The plot, located at the southernmost edge of the appellation, borders Beaujolais. From there, the view encompasses a 360-degree panorama of two great wine regions: Burgundy and Beaujolais. It is this expansive vision, this sense of space and balance, that this wine seeks to convey.
Purity of Chardonnay, ancestral aging
Made from Chardonnay grapes grown without synthetic inputs on schist soils, Perspective benefits from natural vinification using direct pressing, followed by six months of aging in amphorae, which gives it a limpid texture and striking mineral tension. No superfluous oenological intervention: here, only indigenous yeasts orchestrate the fermentation, allowing the terroir to express itself freely.
A vibrant white, full of freshness
On tasting, the wine is clear, bright, and a pale yellow with silvery highlights. The nose opens with delicate notes of honeysuckle, fresh lemon, and a touch of salinity reminiscent of sea spray. On the palate, a wave of freshness, taut and tangy, almost crystalline, accompanies a lovely fruity depth. The finish is clean, long, and mouthwatering.
Suitable for large gatherings as well as for aperitifs
This characterful white wine pairs equally well with shellfish, cooked fish, or mushrooms, as with white meats or soft cheeses. Served chilled, it reveals its full gastronomic potential and can be aged for 5 to 10 years without any problem.
Susucaru Rosato Rosé 2025
Description
Susucaru Rosato has become a true benchmark for gastronomic rosés. Midway between a structured rosé and a very light red, it seduces with its original profile, blending freshness, texture, and volcanic energy. Aromas of wild strawberry, cranberry, pomegranate, citrus zest, and Mediterranean herbs are accompanied by a supple, saline, and remarkably digestible palate. A wine equally at home as an aperitif or at the table.
Winemaking
A blend of Nerello Mascalese, Malvasia, Moscadella, and Catarratto from several Etna contradas. The grapes are destemmed then lightly crushed before a maceration of approximately 10 days. Fermentation begins with a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts, followed by complete malolactic fermentation. Aged in neutral fiberglass tanks, unfined and with light filtration before bottling.
Regard Rouge 2022
Jean-Pierre Robinot
With "Regard" 2022, Jean-Pierre Robinot continues his demanding work as a winemaker-poet, delivering an energetic interpretation of Pineau d'Aunis, an emblematic Loire grape variety that is still too little known. This natural wine, without a label but adhering to a rigorous ethic (zero chemical inputs in the vineyard, natural vinification without exogenous yeasts or oenological inputs), is an ode to terroir and purity.
Made from vines planted on flint soils, the wine benefits from a unique terroir that gives it tension and brilliance. A short one-week maceration preserves the finesse of the grape variety, while revealing its most expressive characteristics: juicy red fruits, black pepper, herbs, and a smoky touch, like a light mist over an undergrowth. On the palate, "Regard" impresses with its delicate yet assertive structure, with a long year-long aging in multi-vintage barrels, bringing complexity and depth without ever dominating the fruit.
The palate is vibrant, intense, almost explosive. A beautiful tannic structure accompanies a fresh and persistent finish. The wine lends itself to assertive gastronomy: grilled or stewed red meats, dishes with mild spices, or even roasted vegetables with wild herbs. It is recommended to serve it around 14 to 16°C, with possible decanting to aerate it.
Jean-Pierre Robinot delivers a living, author's wine here, which will age elegantly for a decade or more. A frank and unvarnished look at what Pineau d'Aunis can be when treated with respect and intuition.
Beaujolais Lancié, Magnum Red 2018
Domaine Bélicard
With this Beaujolais Villages 2018 in magnum format, Domaine Bélicard offers a generous and gourmet version of its 100% Gamay noir, AOC certified, grown on the light sands of Lancié. A full-bodied, expressive red wine, made for sharing and festive gatherings, in a decidedly natural yet always accessible style.
A supple natural wine
The grapes are vinified with a short maceration to preserve the fruity momentum of the grape variety. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, without oenological inputs, followed by 9 months of aging in concrete vats, which respects the integrity of the juice while giving it a beautiful roundness. This wine has nothing to hide: it shines with its frankness and conviviality.
Ripe and juicy fruit
The nose evokes bright red fruits, but also notes of pomegranate, black fruits, and candied fruits. On the palate, it is supple, smooth, with a generous texture and a beautiful freshness. The tannins are melted, the whole remains tonic and carried by a beautiful energy. This magnum is enjoyed in its breadth, unpretentious but with great pleasure.
The magnum of simple happiness
Serve at 14–16 °C, without decanting, this Lancié 2018 is perfect for dinner aperitifs, charcuterie boards, bistro dishes, or generous picnics. A friendly wine as we like them, to drink now or within 5 years.
UGM Qvevris White 2023,
With UGM Qvevris White 2023, Frédéric Cossard offers a captivating natural white, made from a unique blend of Grenache Blanc, Muscat, and Ugni Blanc. Grown at the foot of Mont Ventoux on clay-limestone soils, these organic grapes are then vinified in Burgundy according to the winemaker's exacting principles.
Vinification in qvevri for a vibrant and expressive white
This wine is made with a no additives approach, with total respect for the fruit and the terroir. After a direct press, it is aged in buried amphorae (qvevris), an ancestral method which promotes gentle oxygenation and preserves a great aromatic purity. This unusual vinification process gives the wine a subtle balance between tension and roundness, with a texture that is both silky and invigorating.
An aromatic and indulgent white
The nose immediately seduces with its expressive notes of ripe white fruits, enhanced by a delicate floral touch. On the palate, the attack is gourmet and ample, carried by a beautiful liveliness which prolongs the tasting with a fresh and persistent finish. The combination of the natural acidity of Muscat and the elegance of Grenache Blanc creates a harmonious and luminous wine, perfect for awakening the taste buds.
Food Pairings and Aging Potential
Served between 8 and 10°C, UGM Qvevris White 2023 pairs wonderfully with cooked fish, roasted poultry or white meats. Ideal to drink today on its freshness, it can also be kept for 5 to 10 years, evolving towards more complex and textured notes. A white with character, natural and vibrant, which will surprise lovers of lively wines.
Cuvée Mourvèdre Red 2023,
This cuvée is a vibrant encounter between the power of Mourvèdre and the finesse of Burgundian winemaking. Made from organic grapes from Mont Ventoux, the Cuvée Mourvèdre has a deep color and a captivating nose of pink berries and garrigue. On the palate, it offers a balanced structure between ripe and fine tannins, and complex aromas of red fruits, spices and herbaceous notes.
Vinified in pre-fermentation maceration and aged for 1 year in concrete eggs, this cuvée is the perfect accompaniment to charcuterie, roasted or grilled meats. Enjoy it at 16-18°C, without the need for a carafe, and let it mature over 5 to 10 years.
TN Tinto Natural Red 2022,
A structured and natural Tempranillo, faithful to the Catalan terroir
The TN Tinto Natural 2022, produced by Partida Creus, is a characterful red made from Tempranillo. With a three-week whole-bunch maceration and 8 months of aging in stainless steel vats, this wine captures the raw and sincere essence of this iconic grape variety, while respecting the principles of natural winemaking.
Tasting: Intensity and Complexity
On the nose, notes of leather mingle with aromas of ripe red fruits and spices, offering a beautiful aromatic complexity. On the palate, the Tempranillo's tannic structure is fully expressed, supported by a lively acidity that balances its power. The finish is long, with a persistence that reflects the careful work of the winemaker and the richness of the clay-limestone terroir.
A red for beautiful tables
This structured red pairs perfectly with rich Mediterranean dishes, such as lamb with herbs, stews, or grilled meats. Its complexity and intensity also make it an excellent choice for pairing with mature cheeses.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, this wine does not require decanting but is best opened half an hour before tasting. With an aging potential of 5 years, it will evolve towards deeper and silkier aromas.
Le paché Red 2022
Le Paché is an organic and natural wine produced in Savoie by Jean-Yves Péron with the help of his collaborator Marc Payan. In Vin de France, it is made from Pinot Noir and hybrid grape varieties.
Vinification
The Le Paché plot is planted with old vines (60 to 120 years old) on limestone and schist soils. The vines are harvested by hand. The grapes undergo a two-week carbonic maceration before being fermented with two weeks of punching down the cap. The wine is aged for one year in 225-liter barrels.
Tasting
Floral, spicy, mineral, and delicately fruity—red berries, dried or jammy strawberries, pomegranate—, earthy notes, and a lovely aroma of roots and bark, Le Paché ticks all the boxes for a balanced, medium-bodied red wine. It pays a beautiful tribute to Pinot Noir from the mountainous region. Beautiful velvety mouthfeel, sweet spices.
Learn more about Jean-Yves Péron
Jean-Yves Péron is a talented embodiment of the organic, biodynamic, and natural renaissance of the Savoyard vineyard, which is based on varied soils and numerous indigenous grape varieties (Jacquère, Altesse, Mondeuse, etc.). At his Chevaline winery in the Bauges region, he vinifies grapes from his plots in Conflans, near Albertville, and Fréterive, in the Isère valley.
High-altitude biodynamics
Jean-Yves Péron's work follows the principles of minimal intervention. On narrow, steep slopes, his hand-worked mountain vines in micro-plots receive no synthetic products, Jean-Yves preferring horsetail and nettle manure. All of Jean-Yves Péron's wines are sulfite-free, made from hand-harvested grapes, vinified in whole bunches and foot-trodden in the vat. For all vintages, the free-run and press are blended, then aged on lees for at least one year, in two- or three-wine barrels, amphorae or tuns, before final blending. They must be stored at a temperature below 18°C. No sulfites are added, or as little as possible, and the wines are not fined or filtered.
Italo-Savoyard trade
Since 2011, a trading activity has allowed Jean-Yves Péron to buy the harvest from neighboring organic winegrowers and to collaborate with winegrowers from Northern Italy: this is the I Vicini series, which allows him to diversify the terroirs and deepen his experiences in winemaking and aging.
Hedyos Red 2023
Hedyos is a red wine from the Gaillac terroir (Occitanie), organic and natural, produced by Domaine Bois-Moisset and classified as a Vin de France. A classic Syrah from the South, remarkable for its lightness and drinkability.
Vinification
Hedyos is 100% Syrah, produced without any chemical additives and fermented with indigenous yeasts. The Syrah harvest macerates for two weeks in whole bunches.
Tasting
A spicy lightness characterizes Hedyos, a red wine from Domaine Bois Moisset. The Syrah is fluid, supple, and mineral, with a dominant sweet spice and notes of black olives. It pairs well with Mediterranean dishes, tapenade, bagna cauda or anchoïade, pizzas, and pissaladières.
Learn more about Domaine Bois-Moisset
In the heart of France's oldest vineyard—Gaillac, in the Tarn region—Sylvie Ledran, Philippe Maffre, and their son Hippolyte oversee their Bois-Moisset estate, a wine-growing property associated with mixed crop and livestock farming, all organic. Gaillac is famous for its many ancient indigenous grape varieties, and its wine-growing heritage is uniquely rich.
Cows and Vines
Domaine Bois-Moisset is also home to a herd of old local breed cows, and guest rooms are available during the summer months. It is in this small rural paradise that natural wines typical of their origin and their terroir are born, on fifteen hectares of boulbènes, gravelly and sandy-loam soils carried by the Tarn for thousands of years.
Native grape varieties
The grape varieties are dominated by Syrah and Duras, but the wines of the Bois-Moisset estate reflect the ampelographic richness of the Gaillac region (braucol, prunelart, loin-de-l’œil, mauzac, braucol, ondenc, etc.). The red wines are crisply fruity, concentrated but with smooth and delicate tannins, the whites have character and the pet’ nat’ are particularly tasty.
Les Dorrées White 2020
Les Dorrées (the name of the plot) is a dry white wine from the Coteaux du Loir, organic and natural (Ecocert), classified Vin de France. Its creator, Renaud Guettier of La Grapperie, made it entirely from Chenin. Depending on the vintage, it may or may not offer slightly overripe notes.
Vinification
Les Dorrées comes from the oldest Chenin Blanc vines on the estate (117 years old), planted on soils dominated by clay and flint over a limestone substrate. Hand-picked, organic and additive-free work in the vineyard and cellar, and aged for 24 months to refine and polish the wine.
Tasting
Les Dorrées is an exceptional white wine that bears the signature of La Grapperie Chenins: pure and enchanting, offering slightly oxidative, smoky, and mineral notes on the nose, and white fruits, quince, walnuts, and almonds on the palate with a saline finish of impressive length. It is a white wine with body and density, capable of supporting all taste pairings. We see it pairing well with a beautiful roast poultry, a rack of oven-roasted pork, or grilled lamb. It will also pair well with seafood: smoked salmon, oysters and shellfish, or goat cheese and rillettes from the Loire Valley.
Learn more about Renaud Guettier and La Grapperie
In the Coteaux du Loir appellation, La Grapperie is the name of the estate of Renaud Guettier, who can be described as a master of Chenin, but also of Pineau d'Aunis, which is one of the oldest grape varieties in the Loire Valley.
The estate
Renaud's 60 hectares of vines, on the hillside, are protected from the north winds by the Bercé forest. Depending on the altitude, the terroirs are predominantly clay, flint or sand. The grape varieties are the two traditionally authorized in the appellation: Chenin for the whites and Pineau d'Aunis for 90% of the reds, the rest consisting of a few ares of Côt, Gamay and Grolleau. Some vines are more than a hundred years old.
In the vineyard and the winery
The entire estate is cultivated organically. The soils are worked and all viticultural interventions are manual, including the harvest, carried out at full maturity, which is reflected in the fullness and smoothness of the wines. For the reds, the Pineau d'Aunis is partially destemmed (depending on the plot) and the macerations are quite long, three to four weeks, with punching down, to promote aging potential. The wines are aged in barrels for between twelve and twenty-four months, then racked, blended and bottled without filtration. For the whites, the Chenins are pressed directly at low pressure then put into barrels with complete malolactic fermentation, for at least eighteen months, malolactic included, and sometimes up to thirty-six months.
Puligny Montrachet White 2022
This Puligny-Montrachet AOP is a dry, organic, natural white Burgundy wine vinified by Frédéric Cossard. Frédéric produces several Puligny-Montrachet vintages, including this one with no climate indication, but endowed with all the graces of this great white wine appellation from the Côte de Beaune, one of the most prestigious in Burgundy.
Vinification
Puligny-Montrachet is made from Chardonnay grown on clay-limestone soil. This is a direct-press wine, aged for at least one year.
Tasting
A marvelous fusion of richness and dryness, Frédéric Cossard's Puligny-Montrachet has great aging potential. With age, its aromas lean more and more towards earthy, mineral notes, with smoky accents and a magnificent affinity with truffle. In the meantime, it is difficult to list its pairings, as this unique wine has the gift of harmonizing with everything that is good. Still young, reserve it for fine poultry and white meats.
Learn more about Frédéric Cossard
Frédéric Cossard gives the floor in organic and natural mode to Burgundy wines (and elsewhere), undistorted by agricultural chemicals, according to the style and convictions of this winemaker and merchant. Wherever the grapes come from, his wines bear the Cossard brand, both classic and creative.
Between viticulture and trading
Frédéric Cossard created the Domaine de Chassorney in 1996: initially a few ares of vines in Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses and Savigny-lès-Beaune, then ten hectares spread across the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Bourgogne-Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune and Bourgogne appellations. Since the recent sale of this estate, Frédéric continues to manage his trading house, created in 2006 in his own name. He vinifies grapes from the greatest climates of Burgundy, but also from the Jura, Languedoc and elsewhere.
A solid commitment to nature
At Frédéric Cossard, the work of the soil and the vines is done naturally: plowing by horse, biodynamics, no chemical fertilizers or weedkillers. The harvest, by hand, is carried out at full maturity. Frédéric Cossard's vintages are rare and coveted, wines that are always highly anticipated but which sometimes require waiting.
i Vicini Barbera Red 2021
This bottle from Jean-Yves Péron's I Vicini series is an organic, biodynamic, and natural red wine. It is vinified in Savoie from grapes harvested in Piedmont. The grape variety is Barbera, grown in Asti and Alba. The second most widely used red grape variety in Italy after Sangiovese, Barbera produces full-bodied, colorful wines with notes of red fruits. This vintage is classified as a Wine of the European Community.
Vinification
Hand-harvested, no sulfites added, no filtration, no fining. The two Barberas are macerated for three months with punching down and undergo fifteen days of carbonic maceration. The wine is aged for one year in 225-liter barrels. The 13.5 degrees of alcohol testifies to the desire not to exaggerate its richness and power: the average Barbera today is closer to 15 degrees.
Tasting
A great wine in every sense of the word, this I Vicini Barbera. Long, very fruity, generous, deep, with superb acidity resulting from a harvest at moderate maturity, it is both serious and joyful, intense and concentrated. Finesse, minerality, tension, beautiful intense and colorful red color: it demands to accompany beautiful cuts of meat, whether black pork from Bigorre or high-end beef from Maison Aitana.

Jean-Yves Péron's work follows the principles of minimal intervention. On narrow, steep slopes, his hand-worked mountain vines in micro-plots receive no synthetic products, Jean-Yves preferring horsetail and nettle manure. The grapes are vatted in whole bunches and undergo semi-carbonic maceration. Shortly before pressing, they are foot-trodden in the vat, then transferred to two- or three-wine barrels for twelve months of aging on lees, before blending and resting in the vat. No sulfites are added, or as little as possible, and the wines are not fined or filtered.
Italian-Savoyard trade

Magma Red 2020
Magma is Frank Cornelissen's classic red grand cru. Produced organically (Eurofeuille label) and biodynamically, and classified as DOP (AOP) Sicilia-IGP Terre Siciliane Nerello Mascalese, it is a wine for laying down, produced only in great vintages, when phenolic maturity is reached. It comes from old, ungrafted Nerello Mascalese vines, planted in 1910 on the Barbabecchi contrada, at an altitude of 910 m, renowned for capturing the first rays of the sun in the cool of the morning.
Vinification
This natural, organic, and biodynamic wine is obtained by sixty days of skin maceration of destemmed and lightly crushed grapes. No fining, no addition of sulfites. Light filtration before bottling.
Tasting
Magma restores the remarkable depth of Nerello Mascalese. Rich and elegant, with a dense texture, it has character, personality, and great finesse. More mineral than fruity, it offers notes of secondary fruits (blackberry, prune) and melted tannins. This great wine requires great dishes: we recommend stewed beef or coq au vin. So think about a can of Isabelle Leydier Delavallade or Fermiers du Bord de Sèvre.
Learn more about Frank Cornelissen
A key and universally respected figure in natural, organic and biodynamic wine, the Belgian Frank Cornelissen, a winemaker conquered by Sicily, is a classic. This man of constant questioning lives in human and cosmic resonance with his terroir: he has demonstrated that the powerful minerality of a great volcanic soil could be highlighted by the naturalness of his wines.
An ideal terroir for plot-by-plot vinification
In Passopisciaro, Sicily, in the north of the Etna valley, the 19 plots cover 24 hectares of basalt soils spread over numerous localities (contrade) between 600 and 900 meters above sea level on the side of the volcano. It is, says Frank Cornelissen, the "Night Coast of Sicily". Frank Cornelissen's contrade are all cultivated biodynamically and vinified separately: he decides on the blends based on the quality of each.
The nobility of Nerello Mascalese
Nerello Mascalese is the dominant variety and alone makes up the greatest vintages. This traditional red grape variety from the northern Etna valley produces hypermineral wines due to its long growing cycle. Other grape varieties in the azienda: Nerello Capuccio, Minella Bianco, Minella Nera, Alicante Bouschet, Malvasia, Catarratto, Moscadella, Grecanico Dorato, Carricante…
Lou Dilun Red 2021,
Lou Dilun ("Monday" in Provençal) is an organic and natural wine from the Côtes-de-Provence appellation and under the Écocert organic label, with no added sulfites. In the Grimaud vineyards, the Grenache and Cinsault grapes are selected on the vine. Everything is done, in the vineyard and in the cellar, to ensure the harvest is in perfect health and to avoid the use of sulfur in the vineyard or sulfites in the cellar. Fresh on the palate, Lou Dilun is lively and fruity, silky and velvety, with beautiful body. Light notes of fruit pit emerge from the framework of melted tannins. The secret to its incomparable roundness and fruitiness? Six months of aging in Atelier Centre France oak barrels. This is a wine that will be a pleasure to pair with a beautiful roast poultry.
Learn more about Clos des B
Clos des B (initials of the two owners) is an organic and natural wine estate located in Grimaud, in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Gwendolyn Berger and Jean-Jacques Branger are the proud producers of the very first natural cuvées from this geographical area. Before the two Bs bought these three hectares of vines, all these wines went to the cooperative cellar of the Vignerons de Saint-Tropez. Driven by a "thirst for vines," as they say, Gwendolyn and Jean-Jacques overcame administrative difficulties, restored the vineyard, and soon produced reds, rosés, and even a blanc de noirs. Their grape varieties are typical of the region: Grenache, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, growing on schistose sands crossed by quartz veins. The property benefits from a microclimate that protects the vines from humidity, disease, and frost. The viticulture and winemaking approach resolutely embraces organic (the estate is under the Ecocert label, applied for in 2020), biodynamics, and natural. The wines are without added sulfites, fining, or filtration. The wines of Clos des B are a true reflection of their terroir and climate: fresh, fruity, and very pleasant to drink, beautiful natural wines from the terroir of Provence.
BS Blanc de Sumoll White 2020
Partida Creus
Finely macerated, with a superb golden hue vering with orange, BS Blanc de Sumoll is perfect for the table and refined dishes. Vibrant and aromatic, it offers notes of citrus (grapefruit, orange, lemon), rose, peach, apple, quince, garrigue (thyme, rosemary), and quince, with a rather saline finish. It is also mineral with notes of honey, leather, and stone. This still, sunny Blanc de Noirs, made from 100% white Sumoll (a grape variety that has become extremely rare in Catalonia) and produced directly from the press, is a historic cuvée, the first produced by Massimo and Antonella. Classified as Vino de Mesa (table wine), this is a very rare vintage that should not be missed when a few bottles appear.
Find out more
Partida Creus is an important estate, both in terms of wine and history – we are talking here about the history of the vine in Catalonia. Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, originally from Piedmont – and even from the Langhe region, where wine is well-known – first pursued careers as architects in Barcelona. But the wine bug bit them, and soon they abandoned the big city and its sophistication for the vineyards of southern Catalonia, in Bonastre in Baix-Penedés. There they found a quantity of abandoned vineyards planted with a dizzying diversity of traditional Catalan grape varieties that they passionately revived to save these varieties – and their wines – from oblivion. On their part, it’s not just a matter of saving heritage, no: it’s a matter of taste and nature. Natural wines, which they will continue to make from now on on these sandy, poor, clay-limestone or clay-gravelly, poor and poorly irrigated lands, where the vines suffer to give their best juice. Massimo and Antonella practice organic, biodynamic, entirely manual and natural viticulture in order to give new life to these wines. Vinyater, sumoll, garrut, monastrell, ull de perdiu, ull de llebre, sumoll, queixal de llop, cariñena, trepat, ceciat parent, maccabeu, parellada, pansé, vinel·lo, bobal, cartoixà vermell or xarel·lo: it is a true conservatory of the native Catalan grape varieties that Partida Creus cares for. Moscatel, Grenache, Merlot, and Cabernet (among others) are also grown here. Few wineries can boast growing so many different grape varieties. The wines reflect this diversity, with winemakers striving to best convey the signature of the soil and the grape variety: single-varietal wines are common among them, alongside extensive blends, all in the styles dear to Catalonia: still wine, "ancestral" sparkling wine, and even vermouth. The bottles themselves are works of art: bare glass, simply marked with two large stenciled initials that denote the cuvée. The wines, fresh, vibrant, lush but always straightforward and impeccably juicy and fruity, breathe life. The arrival of a Partida Creus at the table always elicits cries of satisfaction.

This beautiful golden yellow color catches the eye; you pour yourself a small glass and suddenly you wake up. It sparkles, it's fresh, it's full of flavor and joie de vivre, and you could consider La Chassornade a festive wine if you didn't have a furious desire to drink it on any occasion, especially without an excuse or a word from your parents. It is, in short, a magnificent expression of the Aligoté grape variety in sparkling mode: floral, citrusy, taut, fresh, and mineral. It's also a natural sparkling wine that demonstrates the creativity of its winemaker. Aligoté was the first white grape variety in Burgundy—well before Chardonnay—and it deserves to regain its former glory. Vinifying it as a natural sparkling wine isn't a bad idea, quite the opposite: the grape's rounded, pleasant, and fruity notes (lemon and white grapefruit) stand out elegantly. Absolutely delicious. The grapes were harvested near Puligny-Montrachet, from vines that are around forty years old. The harvest is directly pressed, and bottling is done in the clear, without disgorging. Fermentation and aging take place in the bottle for around ten months. Native yeasts, no added sulfites, no additives. Remember to keep the bottle chilled in an upright position for twenty-four hours before tasting so that the lees remain at the bottom.
To find out more
Through his entirely natural work, Frédéric Cossard gives voice to the terroirs and Burgundy wines, undeformed by agricultural chemicals. Having observed, during his years of trading, the existence of harmful wine-growing practices, the winemaker used this counter-example to practice unadulterated viticulture. Thus, he produces vintages of purity and elegance without artifice that are among the most sought-after in Burgundy. Frédéric worked for some time as a wine broker before creating the domaine de Chassorney with his partner Laure in 1996: initially a few ares of vines in Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses and Savigny-lès-Beaune, and currently ten hectares spread across the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Bourgogne-Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune and Bourgogne appellations. In 2006, he created his own wine trading house and buys organic grapes to vinify, according to his style and convictions, great vintages such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and several Beaujolais crus. The exercise is not limited to Burgundy, as vintages are made from grapes purchased in the Jura, Languedoc, or elsewhere. At his place, the work of the soil and the vines is done as naturally as possible: regular plowing by horse, no addition of chemical fertilizers or weedkillers. The vines are cared for according to the principles of biodynamics: homeopathic treatments based on essential oils, copper, and sulfur in minimal doses. The harvest is entirely manual, carried out at full maturity, at the end of October. Red or white, classic Burgundies or more atypical or less "regional" bottles, Frédéric's vintages are rare and sought-after wines, which sometimes require waiting.
GT Garrut Red 2017
With GT Garrut, a lovely and unusual single-varietal wine, the surprise knows no bounds and thirst is quickly quenched. The purplish color alone is a testament to its originality. It is made entirely from Garrut, a Catalan grape variety related to Mourvèdre, also called Monastrell. GT Garrut displays beautiful, earthy and intense qualities, with a strong black fruit character, particularly blackberry (blackberry or tree blackberry). Beautiful notes of red fruit as well, and a delicious acidity. This brilliant wine, perfect for the summer months, is harvested by hand. Fully destemmed, the grapes macerate for three days with a punch-down every three hours, and the alcoholic fermentation on indigenous yeasts takes place for four months in stainless steel vats, followed by twenty months in oak barrels. Unfiltered, unfined, no sulfites added. GT Garrut smells of family vines, artisanal, wine without limits.

Partida Creus is an important estate, both in terms of wine and history – we are talking here about the history of the vine in Catalonia. Massimo Marchiori and Antonella Gerosa, originally from Piedmont – and even from the Langhe region, where they know a lot about wines – first pursued careers as architects in Barcelona. But the wine bug tickles them, and soon they abandon the big city and its sophistication for the vineyards of southern Catalonia, in Bonastre in Baix-Penedés. There they find a quantity of abandoned vineyards planted with a dizzying diversity of traditional Catalan grape varieties, which they passionately revive to save these varieties – and their wines – from oblivion. For them, it's not just a matter of heritage rescue, no: it's a matter of taste and nature. Of natural wines, which they will never stop making from now on on these sandy, poor, clay-limestone or clay-gravel soils, poor and poorly irrigated, where the vines suffer to produce their best juice. Massimo and Antonella practice organic, biodynamic viticulture, entirely manual and natural to give new life to these wines. Vinyater, sumoll, garrut, monastrell, ull de perdiu, ull de llebre, sumoll, queixal de llop, cariñena, trepat, subirat parent, maccabeu, parellada, pansé, vinel·lo, bobal, cartoixà vermell or xarel·lo: Partida Creus is a veritable conservatory of native Catalan grape varieties. It also grows moscatel, grenache, merlot and cabernet (among others). Few wineries can boast growing so many different grape varieties. The wines reflect this diversity, with the winemakers striving to best convey the signature of the soil and the grape variety: single-variety wines are common among them, alongside extensive blends, all in the styles dear to Catalonia: still wine, "ancestral" sparkling wine, and even vermouth. The bottles themselves are works of art: bare glass, simply marked with two large stenciled initials that denote the vintage. The wines, fresh, vibrant, lush yet always straightforward and impeccably juicy and fruity, exude life. The arrival of a Partida Creus at the table always elicits cries of satisfaction.

On the nose, strawberry, candied fruit, and spices. On the palate, blackberry, blackcurrant, and cherry. This robust, great wine for laying down, which can be left for a while before drinking and will age magnificently, comes from vines around forty years old. The twelve-month aging process is carried out mainly in barrels, a third of which are new oak.

Through his entirely natural work, Frédéric Cossard gives voice to the terroirs and Burgundy wines, undistorted by agricultural chemicals. Having observed, during his years of trading, the existence of harmful wine-growing practices, the winemaker used this counter-example to practice unadulterated viticulture. Thus, he produces vintages of purity and elegance without artifice which are among the most sought-after in Burgundy. Frédéric worked for a time as a wine broker before creating the Chassorney estate with his partner Laure in 1996: initially a few ares of vines in Saint-Romain, Auxey-Duresses and Savigny-lès-Beaune, and currently ten hectares spread across the Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pommard, Volnay, Bourgogne-Hautes-Côtes-de-Beaune and Bourgogne appellations. In 2006, he created his own wine merchant company and purchased organic grapes to vinify, according to his style and convictions, great vintages such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Pommard, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanée and several Beaujolais vintages. The practice is not limited to Burgundy, as vintages are made from grapes purchased in the Jura, Languedoc and elsewhere. At his place, the work of the soil and the vines is done as naturally as possible: regular plowing by horse, no addition of chemical fertilizers or weedkillers. The vines are cared for according to the principles of biodynamics: homeopathic treatments based on essential oils, copper and sulfur in minimal doses. The harvest is entirely manual, carried out at full maturity, at the end of October. Red or white, classic Burgundies or more atypical or less "regional" bottles, Frédéric's vintages are rare and sought-after wines, which sometimes require waiting.
