An elegant, dark, squat bottle and a pretty art deco label are a welcome change from the traditional image of Savoyard génépi, a liqueur made from the genepi plant, emblematic of the Alpine mountains. Two friends, Johan and Alexis, joined forces to create their ideal liqueur and produce it in a historic, artisanal distillery in the Alps. Johan's family, in Savoie, has been making their own génépi since their very beginnings, and each family member has their own recipe. Alexis's family, in Anjou, distills floral waters and essential oils. These two tasted many génépis before developing their recipe. In 2018, they finally achieved their goal, to the delight of fine liqueur lovers, not to mention bartenders and mixologists.

The plant is grown at high altitudes, above 2,000 meters; this cultivation is unavoidable, as wild harvesting of génépi is limited to 100 sprigs per person per year. The floral sprigs of genepi are harvested at the end of summer and macerated for twenty-one days in alcohol and sugar. Blending this maceration with an alcoholate (distillation) of genepi sprigs corrects the bitterness and rounds out the taste. The finished product is a sweet and refined liqueur that lends itself to all methods of consumption, on its own or in a cocktail.
