New Year's Day, with or without a headache?

Please forgive this slightly catchy title, but we wanted to clarify this topic
where one can read everything and its opposite... With fewer sulfites and no chemicals, natural wines are often easier to digest. Sulfites can also cause headaches, but alcohol remains the primary cause of headaches (there's only one method then: drink in moderation!). Natural wine is a great way to enjoy the holidays without suffering too much the next day!

Ready to celebrate the New Year? Choosing the right bubbles is essential for a successful party! But with so many choices, it can be difficult to navigate. Pet’ nat’ or Champagne, which method should you choose?

🍇 Wine Point

Pet’ nat’, or natural sparkling wine, is made using an ancestral method. Fermentation ends directly in the bottle, naturally trapping the bubbles. The result: a brut wine, often fresher and fruitier than Champagne.

Very rare because it's difficult to make using the natural method, Champagne follows the traditional method, like Crémant and Cava. After a first fermentation, the wine is bottled with the addition of tirage liqueur (yeast + sugars). A second fermentation then occurs, creating the foam. This method allows for more precise control of aromas and adds more complexity to the wine.

😋 Flavor Point

Pet’nat’: Ideal as an aperitif, for those who love natural wines with fine bubbles.
Champagne: A timeless, vinous classic, ideal for festive meals.
