Saint Romain Combe Bazin Qvevris Blanc 2018, Domaine de Chassorney
This Chardonnay comes from a steep, east-facing plot between 280 and 400 meters above sea level. The soils are mainly marl, limestone, and clay. The harvest macerates in whole bunches and is aged in qvevris (buried jars), which accentuates the smoothness, minerality, and texture. This climate is known for producing mineral, lively, sapid, and persistent wines, with the added bonus of Burgundian smoothness.
Natural wine with no added sulfites.
