Antenet Cahors Rouge 1998
Danis dans la Vigne
A cellar gem, between family heritage and the depth of time
Here is a rare, almost confidential wine, which tells a story even before it is opened. Antenet 1998 is a unique cuvée, vinified more than twenty-five years ago by Danis's father, the current winemaker of the Danis dans la Vigne estate. This Cahors from another era, made from 100% Malbec, was crafted with respect for tradition and with a philosophy already very close to natural winemaking: short maceration, aging in concrete vats for two years, no oenological "makeup."
The typical clay-limestone soil of the Cahors vineyard produces an excellent keeping wine, with tannins polished by time and incredibly rich aromatics. At only 12% alcohol, it defies modern standards with its balance, freshness, and exceptional longevity.
A deep, aged, memory-filled wine
After more than two decades of rest, Antenet 1998 reveals a brick-red garnet color, with brown reflections. The complex and captivating nose unveils aromas of stewed black fruits, prune, blond tobacco, with a hint of undergrowth. On the palate, the texture is melted, ample, with a rare smoothness. This wine evokes a bygone era, yet remains strikingly delicious, perfect with roasted meats, game, or a dish rich in umami.
Served at 16-18°C, with no need for decanting, this wine is ready to be enjoyed. It is a liquid archive, a family treasure, to be discovered like reading a letter from the past.
Antenet Rosé, Rosé 2022,
Danis dans la vigne
Antenet rosé is an organic and natural Cahors wine, made by Danis Bessières of Danis dans la vigne. Classified as a Vin de France, it is composed of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Egiodola.
Vinification
The technique used here is saignée rosé, which produces wines with a deep color. The Egiodola grape variety, which makes up half of this Antenet rosé, was created in 1954 at the INRA in Bordeaux by Basque agronomist Marcel Durquety. It produces fairly tannic, floral and intense wines, and makes it possible to obtain excellent rosés.
Tasting
Antenet rosé is atypical: it is not a poolside rosé but a table and gastronomy rosé, in addition to being a good aperitif wine. Its very dark color testifies to this. Rich in substance, it coats the mouth well and emits notes of citrus rather than flowers. It evokes blackcurrant, redcurrant, grapefruit pulp and orange peel. Rich and quite alcoholic, with great acidity. Pairs well with many dishes, not just summer salads.
Learn more about Danis dans la vigne
Under the name Danis dans la vigne, Danis Bessières vinifies organic grapes from the family estate, Domaine de l'Antenet, which was the first organic vineyard in Cahors in the early 1980s.
Organic and natural since 1983
Danis respects the principles established in the vineyard and winery by his grandfather and then his father: making wines without additives, organic and natural, from local grape varieties while respecting the environment. It was in 1983 that his grandfather obtained the Lemaire-Boucher organic label, followed by Nature & Progrès and then the AB and Eurofeuille organic labels. Danis Bessières continues in this vein.
Malbec, but not only
Malbec reigns supreme in the Cadurcian region, but Danis also uses Cabernets, Jurançon Noir, Merlot, and recently created grape varieties, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Colombard as single-varietals. These experiments allow him to moderate the density and opacity of the main grape variety.
With Antique Rouge 2023, La Tribu Alonso explores a rare and captivating facet of Gamay, far from classic profiles. This cuvée reveals a riper and more enveloping side of the grape variety, in a free and deeply artisanal interpretation, true to the estate's philosophy.
The vines are cultivated without chemical inputs, respecting natural balances. As always with La Tribu Alonso, no synthetic products are used, neither in the vineyard nor in the cellar. Fermentation relies exclusively on indigenous yeasts, and interventions are kept to a strict minimum to preserve the purest expression of the grape and the vintage.
In the glass, the color is a deep red with slightly evolved reflections, announcing a wine with a strong personality. The nose is rich and generous, marked by notes of caramel, dried fruits, and blond tobacco, almost evoking the world of oxidative wines or old vintages. This aromatic complexity immediately invites contemplation.
On the palate, the attack surprises with its syrupy, ample, and caressing texture. The wine unfurls a round, warm body, where flavors of candied fruit and sweet spices linger for a long time. The balance plays between sweetness and intensity, offering an experience that is both gourmet and structured, without heaviness.
Antique Rouge 2023 is particularly well suited for shared moments. It will uniquely accompany an aperitif, especially with aged cheeses or lightly spiced dishes. It will also enhance dishes with oriental flavors or bold cuisines, thanks to its enveloping roundness.
With this cuvée, La Tribu Alonso offers an atypical, sincere, and deeply expressive natural wine that will appeal to enthusiasts seeking new sensations.
Aphrodite Blanc 2019
La Grapperie
Candied apples, spices, freshness, tension, and balance: plenty of structure and minerality. A little residual sugar adds richness and fullness without the slightest trace of heaviness. The signature of the old vines (over a hundred years old) is evident. Pure Chenin Blanc, Aphrodite is a charming wine made from vines planted in 1935 on flint-clay soils. The grapes are pressed directly at low pressure and then transferred by gravity before undergoing barrel fermentation with indigenous yeasts followed by aging for twenty-four months in tuffeau cellars. On the nose, notes of undergrowth are found on the palate with slightly caramelized and brioche aromas, balanced by some herbaceous notes at the end. A very, very great wine.
To find out more
In the Coteaux du Loir appellation, La Grapperie is the name of the estate of Renaud Guettier, who can be described as a master of Chenin, but also of Pineau d'Aunis, which is one of the oldest grape varieties in the Loire Valley. His principle, he confides, is "to produce complex, rich wines with good aging potential and imbued with the minerality of their terroir." The vines are located on hillsides, between 60 and 120 meters above sea level, protected from the north winds by the Bercé forest. Depending on the altitude, the terroirs are dominated by clay (at the bottom of the slope), flint (mid-slope), or sand (on the higher ground). The 60-hectare vineyard comprises around fifteen plots. The grape varieties are the two traditionally authorized varieties in the appellation: Chenin for the whites and Pineau d'Aunis for 90% of the reds, the remainder consisting of a few ares of Côt, Gamay, and Grolleau. The average age of the vines is seventy years, including almost two hectares of century-old vines and one and a half hectares of vines aged sixty to eighty years. Convinced of the enormous potential that these old vines can bring to his vintages, Renaud is meticulous in restoring the vineyard. The entire estate is cultivated organically. The soils are worked and all viticultural interventions are manual, including the harvests, carried out at full maturity, which is reflected in the fullness and smoothness of the wines. For the reds, the Pineaux d'Aunis are partially destemmed (depending on the plot) and the macerations are quite long, three to four weeks, with punching down, to promote aging potential. The wines are aged in barrels for between twelve and twenty-four months, then racked, blended and bottled without filtration. For the whites, the Chenins are pressed directly at low pressure and then poured into barrels by gravity. Fermentation takes place in barrels, on indigenous yeasts, with complete malolactic fermentation, for at least eighteen months and sometimes up to thirty-six months.
Aquavit
Distillerie du Viaduc
With this Aquavit distilled in Paris, Distillerie du Viaduc pays homage to Scandinavian traditions while asserting a resolutely artisanal and local identity. Inspired by Nordic aquavits, this organic spirit is based on caraway, whose aromatic depth structures the whole. The botanicals used, caraway, dill, fenugreek, and orange peel, are all from organic French agriculture and undergo slow maceration before complete distillation in a traditional still.
Sugar-free, dye-free, and additive-free, this cuvée expresses remarkable purity. The nose is immediately warm, dominated by caraway, balanced by aniseed notes and zesty freshness. On the palate, the attack is round, almost gourmet, followed by a spicy, slightly smoky framework thanks to the fenugreek, and subtly softened by dill. The finish reveals a pleasant orange sweetness, long and refreshing, with a very elegant herbaceous return.
This new generation aquavit can be enjoyed neat or on ice, as a digestif, or as an aperitif, lengthened with a dry tonic or ginger beer. It also perfectly accompanies smoked fish, Nordic savory dishes, or plant-based cuisine with caramelized or earthy notes. At 42%, it remains accessible, fine, and well-balanced, reflecting the precise work of Distillerie du Viaduc.
A beautiful tribute to Northern Europe, with a French terroir accent.
Aquavit Helsingfors Fiskehamns The Helsinki Distilling Co.
Vintage Spirit Garage
The only Finnish aquavit on the market, this eau-de-vie (41.5% ABV) is intense, flavored with local aromatic seeds (caraway, fennel, dill) and fresh lemon peel. The botanicals are infused in Finnish rye spirit before distillation in a copper still. A portion is then matured in French oak barrels for a year, then blended with clear aquavit to smooth and refresh the taste. It is the perfect accompaniment to smoked salmon, seafood, shellfish, herring, caviar and all seafood. It is also an excellent digestif.

Château Lafitte is located in Béarn, on the noble terroir of Jurançon, the origin of superb sweet wines and dry wines that have nothing to envy. Since the 14th century, Monein, the commune where the estate is located, has been nestled in an exceptional natural, rich, and hilly environment. In the 16th century, vines already occupied a significant part of the property, and they have persisted to this day. Philippe and Brigitte Arraou, the current owners, have undertaken to revive viticulture on the site, helped since 2012 by their son Antoine, a winemaker as passionate as his parents. Château Lafitte is now managed biodynamically and with agroforestry: five hectares of marl-limestone soils typical of the appellation, on a hilly terrain that can become very cold in winter. The king grape varieties of Jurançon, Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng, represent the majority of the grape varieties. Also typical of Jurançon and the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in general, viticulture en hautains, that is to say raised and trained very high, is practiced. As it was in many primitive vineyards, some of which are still active (Portugal, Spain, Georgia, etc.). On this beautiful estate, winemaking experiments are legion: aging in terracotta jars for dry wines, solera for sweet wines in untopped barrels, photovoltaic roofs for the cellar, rainwater harvesting, gravity-fed vinification. Château Lafitte produces sweet Jurançons as well as still dry wines and a very successful natural sparkling wine, Funambule.
