5 rosés for your summer palate 😋

First, let's start with a shocking fact: France is the world's leading rosé producer. While this news is far from surprising, it does tell us there's room for good natural rosé wine. Rosé is a wine made from a light maceration between the skin of a black grape and its juice!

Next, let's continue with a second, even more striking anecdote: Rosé is undoubtedly one of the oldest wines in the world. And yes, the dark reds with their tannins and perfect maceration are only a few decades old, a century at most. Previously, and without mastering maceration techniques, wines made from black grape varieties were pink in color, the darkest ones a very pale red color.

Finally, and although production is dominated by the Mediterranean arc, know that all French wine regions produce rosé wine. Two winemaking techniques allow it to be produced, the most widespread being the direct pressing of black grapes, where the juice will be loaded with some colored pigments, then the saignée, a method formerly used by the ancients where the goal is to take a very small part of a red wine at the beginning of maceration to make the desired rosé.

The colors vary from light pink to dark pink, enjoy!
