Morgon mc2 Rouge 2017,

Nicolas Chemarin

MC2 is the result of blending two plots of Morgon (Corcelette and Les Charmes) planted with forty-year-old Gamay grapes, on sandy and schist soils with a subsoil of clay and decomposed rock. The harvest ferments in whole bunches in concrete vats for twenty days, and the wine is aged for ten months in neutral oak: the result is a dense, dark Beaujolais, very mineral, and long-lasting. This fruity and structured wine can age for another five or six years, but it is already perfect.

Natural wine with no added sulfites.

"There aren't many grape varieties that have as many facets as Gamay. You can make anything from small red fruits to wines for laying down!"
