Marguerite Rouge 2017, Domaine Bois Moisset
This 2017 Marguerite cuvée is made from Duras, a typical Gaillac grape variety derived from a cross between Savagnin and Tressot. The vines grow on two types of soil: sandy loam and clayey gravel. The 2017 harvest was small and concentrated; once destemmed, it macerated for two weeks in vats. The marc was punched down twice and the temperature never exceeded 20°C. The wine was bottled after aging in cement barrels. On the palate, it has a beautiful bouquet of spices! Sweet like cinnamon, spicy like black pepper. Lots of freshness and volume.
