Malophet Rouge 2011, Domaine Leonine
80% Carignan, 20% Grenache Noir: a wine whose name doesn't evoke some Kabbalistic demon but rather "malo fait" (malolactic fermentation, of course), under the aegis of a hypothetical goddess of Bacteria in fermentation mythology (which is as good as any other). A herbaceous, earthy nose precedes a palate of stewed fruit, mineral, with substance, velvety texture, and freshness. No added sulfur. The tannins, with nine years of age, are perfectly melted.
Natural wine with no added sulfites

If men smile (even bald ones), if the vines are green and if the wine is drunk greedily, then we are not too far from the truth.
